Ever wonder what kind of name "Hiscock" is ? Now you know, he's a Newfoundlander... and your thinking "now it ALL makes sense".Although Jeff is originally from "The Rock" he has lived and travelled the world, which along with being a Gemini, would explain his eclectic music tastes. From Johnny Cash to Slipknot and all stops in between.

Jeff started as a drummer,and also plays bass and guitar. A self written, performed, engineered, produced, promoted and everything else CD has been in the works for about 20 years. Someday we might see it !! Expect it to be as broad and passionate as this "quiet man" really is.


Q&A with Jeff Hiscock of Cardboard Heroes


1. What instrument do you play ? What inspired you to play that instrument ?

A: I play guitar but started as a drummer. I heard Led Zeppelin II when I was 10 and decided I HAD to do that. At about 17 I switched to guitar as it seemed the guitar players were more "popular"


2. What are your musical influences ?

A: Too many. First my mother, she played guitar and we always had a guitar and music around the house. The big three would be the Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, Rush and Jimi Hendrix...(hey Jeff that was 4)


3. What song or album did you wish your wrote or played on ?

A: I wish I wrote "Since I've Been Loving You" off of Led Zeppelin III. I have heard it a million times and I never tire. Following closely behind Rush's "Free Will" and Jimi Hendrix "If 6 was 9"


4. Who would be the players in your ultimate band ?

A: John Bonham on drums, Tory Amos singing , Steve Harris on bass , Warren Haynes on the "other" guitar.


5. Do you prefer to read or watch a movie ? What's your favorite movie or book ?

A:Definitely reading, but seems I never have time for either. Favorite movie would have to be "13 Days". It's about the Cuban missile crisis and how I almost never was born.


6. Other interests outside of music ?

A:Golf ( I lie about my 6 handicap) , most other sports that don’t involve judges, fish (as in pets not fishing) and the cats.


7. What's the day job , what would be your ultimate job/career outside of music ?

A: That’s like asking an Austrian woman her age.....but I do Analyze things.


8. Favorite gear, song to play, fan , technique ?

A: Gear is a bit of an obsession(laughs!!) ... currently it’s Les Pauls and Bad Cats.


9. Sit in restaurant or take out ? What's your favorite food ?

A: Peanut Butter.


10. Anything else the world should know about you ?

A: Nothing about me but.... Care about apathy. Pick something to believe in and be ready to die fighting for it.
